Welding AMPCO® Material to Carbon Steel

Recommended Electrodes and Procedure for Dissimilar Metal Welding

For welding AMPCO® material to carbon steel, AMPCO-TRODE® 10 is the recommended electrode for dissimilar metal joining.

When the objective is to overlay AMPCO® material onto steel, a buffer layer of AMPCO-TRODE® 10 should first be applied to the steel substrate. AMPCO-CORE® can then be deposited onto the AMPCO-TRODE® 10 buffer layer to complete the overlay.
