Maximum Operating Temperature of AMPCO® 18

Temperature Limits for Continuous Cast and Wrought Conditions

AMPCO® 18 will maintain its mechanical properties at the following maximum continuous operating temperatures:

  • Continuous cast: 600°F (approximately 315°C)
  • Wrought (forged or extruded): 650°F (approximately 343°C)

The production method therefore has a direct bearing on the thermal limit of the material and should be taken into account when specifying AMPCO® 18 for elevated temperature applications.
