Coatings for AMPCOLOY® 83
Temperature Constraints and Suitable Coating Options
Coatings can be applied to AMPCOLOY® 83 to further enhance its surface properties, but the processing temperature of the coating must not exceed 250°C. This limit is determined by the solution annealing temperature of AMPCOLOY® 83, which is 315°C. Exceeding 250°C risks compromising the mechanical properties of the base material.
Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating, which is typically applied at around 200°C, falls within this acceptable range and is therefore a viable option for AMPCOLOY® 83.
