Why AMPCOLOY® 972 Is Not Recommended for Direct Plastic Contact Applications

AMPCOLOY® 972 is not recommended for mold cores in direct contact with plastics. While it offers higher thermal conductivity than AMPCOLOY® 940, its service life in this application would be less than half that of AMPCOLOY® 940. For mold cores requiring both thermal performance and acceptable wear life, AMPCOLOY® 940 remains the correct choice.
