AMPCO® M4 for High-Temperature Bearing Applications

AMPCO® M4 is the AMPCO® alloy with the highest heat resistance and is the recommended choice when operating temperatures reach 650°C to 750°C. At such extreme temperatures, the service life of any copper-based alloy will be reduced, and this should be factored into maintenance and replacement planning. However, within the AMPCO® product range, AMPCO® M4 offers the best available performance under these conditions. The counterpart material in the example case, stainless steel 1.4878 (X8CrNiTi 18-10), is compatible with this application.
