What Is AMPCO® 29?

A Targeted Alternative to AMPCO® 25 for Specific Competitive Situations

AMPCO® 29 is an alloy with a similar base to AMPCO® 25 but with a modified chemistry designed to offer improved friction coefficients, wear resistance, and machinability. It was developed as a direct alternative to competitive alloys such as Durit 3+ and Durimet 3+ from Metallindustria, and may be proposed to customers seeking an alternative to those grades.

AMPCO® 29 should be positioned carefully and only in situations where a direct alternative to these competitive grades is being sought. It should not be proposed as a general replacement for AMPCO® 25, as cannibalizing the established AMPCO® 25 position is not the intent.
