PV Rating for AMPCO® 18 Sleeve Bearings

Reference Values for Rotational Speed, Radial Pressure, and Maximum PV

The following bearing performance ratings apply to sleeve bearings made from AMPCO® 18:

  • Maximum rotational speed: 300 – 350 ft./min.
  • Maximum radial pressure: 6,500 – 7,000 psi
  • Maximum PV rating: approximately 130,000 – 135,000

These values should be used as reference parameters during the design and selection process. Final application suitability should be evaluated against actual operating conditions, including load, speed, lubrication, and counterpart material.
