Maximum Sliding Velocity for AMPCO® 18 Guide Bushings

AMPCO® 18 can be used in guide bushing applications at sliding velocities up to 1.5 m/s, which corresponds to 90 m/min. At this speed, lubrication is necessary to ensure reliable long-term performance. While the self-lubricating properties of AMPCO® 18 allow it to operate at 1.5 m/s for a period without lubrication, continuous dry running at this velocity is not sustainable and will reduce service life. Lubrication should therefore be provided for any application operating at or near this speed limit.
