Machining AMPCO® 25 with HSS Tools

Why High Speed Steel Is Not Suitable for This Alloy

 HSS (High Speed Steel) tooling should not be used to drill, thread, or machine AMPCO® 25.

HSS tools lack the hardness required for this alloy and will lose their cutting edge rapidly, leading to poor surface quality and accelerated tool wear.

Only carbide tooling is suitable for machining AMPCO® 25.
