Test Conditions and Methodology Behind Published Values

The coefficients of friction published for AMPCO® alloys are measured under dynamic, not static, conditions.

Testing is carried out against SAE 4340 steel, without lubrication, at ambient temperature.

These conditions should be taken into account when comparing published values to actual application conditions, which may involve different counterpart materials, lubrication, temperature, or sliding speeds.
