Galling Risk Between Electroless Nickel Coating and Nickel-Containing Alloys

Based on current knowledge, the hardness of an electroless nickel coating is sufficient to prevent galling when in contact with nickel-containing alloys such as AMPCO® 45 and AMPCO® M4.

This combination is therefore considered acceptable. As with any tribological pairing, final validation should be based on the specific operating conditions of the application.
