Coefficient of Friction for AMPCO® 25 Against Steel and Zinc-Coated Steel
Dry and Lubricated Values and What to Do When Data Is Unavailable
The coefficient of friction for AMPCO® 25 is 0.30 in dry conditions and 0.09 in lubricated conditions, measured against steel. For zinc-coated steel, no measured data is available, but values are expected to be similar to those against uncoated steel. In the absence of validated data for this specific pairing, a customer trial is the most reliable approach to confirm suitability. Dry coefficient of friction values for all AMPCO® alloys are available on the AMPCO METAL website.
