Why Cold Forming Is Not an Option

AMPCOLOY® 83 cannot be bent cold.

Heating is required to make the material workable, but this will typically affect its mechanical properties, making a full heat treatment cycle necessary afterward.

For small or thin sections, the risk of warpage and distortion during heat treatment must also be considered.

Bending AMPCOLOY® 83 is therefore a process that requires careful evaluation of geometry, section size, and downstream heat treatment feasibility before committing to this approach.
